Gadah Al-Samman

(1942- ) was born in Damascus, Syria. Into a well educated family: her father being a journalist, a rector at the University of Damascus and Minister of Education. She attended the American University in Beirut and the University of London. She has many political articles (Our Constitution-We the Liberated Women), poetry, short stories and novels (Beirut 75, laylat al-Milyaar) discussing both social and political issues. She is also a distinguish journalist who has her own column in al-Hawadith monthly- magazine. She.s married and has one son.
